I bought this one as my previous super pet top fill kept getting bumped off the cage, very loose fitting bracket. After being dropped on the floor twice, it started dripping very badly. I had to use the old bottle that held on with a wire while waiting for this product. I was a bit skeptical when I pulled it out because of the sharp point instead of the ball tip. My Californian had no problem figuring it out though, and chews and sucks out water just fine. I have had it for a week, and not a wet spot in the cage! Thank you lixit! No more soiled bedding. The bracket holding it in place seems to be tighter as well and the wide mouth at the top makes it a breeze to fill and clean.

I love this water bottle for many reasons. I initially bought this about five six years ago when the female rabbit I had then took to ripping off the metal sipper part of every water bottle I tried. I don’t know how she did it but she did. With this water bottle she was not able to or did not want to get the metal sipper part off.This has a silent metal rounded pin (not sharp) instead of a noisy ball bearing and it may look a little crude but really it isn’t. I touched my finger to it and you barely have to move it to get the water out.I have two baby holland lops and I purchased two water bottles a glass ball bearing one that I purchased while waiting for this one to arrive (I purchased the lixit from an independant seller on Amazon no Prime). Now that I have both of them I left both up to see which one they preferred and they took to the lixit one and are drinking even more water. I also like this one because it can be easily filled from the outside of the cage and the top is wide enough that in the hot days of summer ice can be added to it to keep the water cool. It is easy to install just screw on the plastic holder.I really like the way the water bottle adjusts height. The bottle itself has plastic raised rings that the holder slides between. I have a double decker wooden/wire cage and with the traditional water bottles I could only adjust the height of the water bottle by moving the metal holder, this made it so the water bottle was either too low so the bunnies had trouble drinking from it or was too high and the bottle interfered with the door opening above, and the bunnies had trouble drinking from it, I had to devise my own holder to make it work. With this bottle you attach the holder and then can adjust the bottle to the needed height. (needs a wire cage, this would not work in a glass tank with the holder provided). And unlike other water bottles that have to be completely filled to the top to get a good seal or else it will leak this one does not. Does not leak!
Great bottle. No noise, no leaks. Rubbed peanut butter on the nozzle and my maltese learned to use it in one afternoon. Do not over fill because there is a vent in the top of the bottle which may account for the fact that some people said it leaks. Some water may get on the floor when the dog actually drinks but a bowl underneath takes care of that. I never had to experience the constant dripping and the many times when I thought I had the nozzle on right with the old metal ball bottle and the entire contents leaked out soaking everything. Good quality. It is smaller and has to be filled more often but the flip top means you do not have to take it down to fill it. One other plus that may not be obvious is that it is WAY easier to clean; the hole on the other bottle was so small when it got nasty inside it was a real hassle to clean. The large opening on this bottle means you can wash it like any regular cup or container.Update: I have had this bottle for quite sometime now. It is still leak free and now that the dog has grown accustomed to it no water gets on the floor when he drinks either. I really love this bottle after all the problems I had with the old ball nozzle bottles.

Bought these for guinea pigs and I am delighted. So much easier that the bottles that have wire round them. Fixing is really good – it can be swivelled vertically for hutches with horizontal bars. Have bought several more.

So I really feel two ways about this bottle. I needed something that wouldn’t be constantly dripping in my Guinea pigs cage (I’ve two Guinea pigs) and I’ve purchased a few different bottles over the last two years, including a glass one, but they all ended up dripping. I read the reviews about this bottle and was delighted that finally their cage bedding wouldn’t be soaked and it would be more hygienic for them both and not smelly in my home.However, while they taught themselves how to use it, probably not properly, I feel it squirts out too much water at a time, so their bedding is still wet and because of this I’m having to refill it every day, sometimes twice a day and now they need to be bathed more and the cage being cleaned more often.
